It’s been a harrowing week-month-year-eternity… We’ve got a week left to go, but the end is near… Thursday we have parent-teacher meetings at gan and Friday there is an open house for the kids. Yay! I feel like I am about to receive a pardon and a get-out-of-jail-free card… not that I don’t love him. I adore him. He just wears me out. I am finished… too tired to think…

But I did squeeze in some sewing… had to be done… I was part of another swap. This time makeup bags. This is mine, made for a professional seamstress/sewing teacher (no stress, not intimidating at all…)…

Then, because I was in the shvoong of it all, I started making disappearing 9-patches. Can’t decide what to do with them. Hubby says I should make pillow shams for the couch in the den. Could be… dunno yet…

This is so easy to do, but looks soooo impressive (if I say so myself)… I learnt how to do this from Blessed Roots’ blog. She is so creative and talented…

That’s all for now.. off to get a pedicure. HOORAY!

We have just finished a week without Gan (nursery school). Yagel was in nursery school every day til 4 pm until we moved. He has been home with me and Ziv and Safta for the whole week. I don’t remember the last time I was so tired (yes, I do, when Ziv was born:-P).

We watched way too much TV, played tons of games, ran around, and even managed to unpack 99% of the house… I have my mom to thank for that. SHe has been amazing. Here every day, helping with the kids, unpacking, washing dishes, sweeping the never-ending dust and hairs that I shed… Thank you safta!

My friend Vicky introduced us to a great game about two years ago: Who knows whose nose. It teaches matching and turn taking and is so cute and so much fun. We finally got our own game, and Yagel is now old enough to play. He loves taking turns, but he hasn’t figured out that in the end there is a winner, so we just play till its over…

I can’t wait to get back to sewing. Next week! Hooray! I have a makeup bag to make for a swap, and a list as long as my arm of projects I want to get into.

I can’t write without a yummy pic of my little girl, can I? She has worked out how to turn over from her back to her tummy, but not reall the other way… she gets frustrated… so Imma helps:-)

insomnia…

SO we moved on Thursday. Not fun. Not something I intend to repeat in the near future. Too stressful for words…

We’ve been unpacking all weekend and it feels like it will never end. Two little ones underfoot don’t help. Yagel got a tool box from my mom with all kinds of cool tools (plastic) and his been marching around the house hammering everything. Noisy, but too cute.

The weather here is to die for. There is a constant breeze during the day and its windy at night. Feels really good.

I am having such a hard time sleeping. Hard to adjust to all the new sounds. The wind, the muezzin, the quiet (we used to live on a pretty busy street)…

Tomorrow Shahar goes to work, and its the first day of summer vacation from pre-school. Should be fun (just thinking about it is making me sweat)…

On the creative front, my sewing corner is finished. I will take pictures tomorrow…

I got a huge compliment today… Someone asked Adi where she bought her bag. 🙂 WOW…

That’s all for now. Going to attempt sleeping again…

Today was Adi’s last day working for us. Mind you, it never really felt like work… At least not to me. She said the same thing…

She bought Yagel 2 really nice books, and I made her a ag and packed it with goodies: Pretty chopsticks, hand cream, bubble bath, and gummy candy. She was so excited! She told me that she can’t wait for her friends to be jealous. 🙂

We ordered sushi and ate while Yagel ate chicken and rice. He wanted sushi too, but refused to put it into his mouth… I was so hoping to have another sushi lover on my side… hopefully that will still change.

Sad day, but a good one. 33 hours and counting….

BTW, the fabric is Yui Kokeshi by Alexander Henry, which I bought from buyfabricsonline.com. The lining is from a shop in Tel Aviv, and the bag itself is based on a tutorial by Yama, with boxed corners…

Ain’t that the truth? I am trying so hard not to cry. We are moving the day after tomorrow. It’s finally sinking in. We are moving only an hour away, but it feels like a different world. It is a different world. Even the weather is different (better…)…

There are so many things I am going to miss about Raanana. Its proximity to Ikea :-P… the parks, the foliage, the mall, the people…

Mostly, I’m going to miss the people. A few in particular. Like, Adi, for example. Adi is our babysitter. She is my angel who saved my from insanity when Ziv was 5 weeks old. She is amazing. Great with Yagel as well as with Ziv. And also so nice to talk to. She is going to be a great mother some day. Here she is doing her “Wilson” impression…

-)

🙂

I’m also going to miss Sandy and Yvonne, who kpet my house sparkling for the last year and made me laugh. Who am I going to whinge to in Jlem, who?

And last, but certainly not least, Michal. My sister from another mother. Friends are the family you choose, and I couldn’t have chosen better. Thank goodness her mother-in-law lives in Jlem, so we will definitely be seeing each other, just not quite as often… Oof.

Can’t wait for this move to be done with… 48 hours and counting….

yummy children

Yagel went to his first birthday party on Thursday. Our neighbour turned 3. They had a clown and about 20ish kids each with at least 1 parent. Was fun. Yagel had a good time.
